Refer Someone in Need

If you know someone who uses a wheelchair and is seeking recovery from substance use, your referral can be life-changing.

Many individuals with disabilities are denied treatment, placed on endless waitlists, or forced into unsafe environments simply because facilities are not accessible. Able Place Recovery was created specifically for this population.

Who Can Make a Referral

Referrals are welcome from:

  • Family members and loved ones

  • Hospitals and discharge planners

  • Treatment centers and clinicians

  • Case managers and social workers

  • Courts, probation officers, and legal advocates

  • Disability and spinal cord injury organizations

Each referral is reviewed carefully to ensure the individual is appropriate for our program and that we can safely support their recovery.

Why Your Referral Matters

For many wheelchair users, a referral is more than a recommendation—it is access to care that may not exist anywhere else.

Referring someone to Able Place Recovery means:

  • Connecting them to a program built specifically for their physical needs

  • Offering recovery in a safe, dignified, and accessible environment

  • Preventing discharge into homelessness or unsafe housing

  • Providing a real opportunity for long-term stability and healing

How Donating Makes Recovery Possible

Donations are a critical part of building and sustaining Able Place Recovery.

Because we are creating a facility designed from the ground up for wheelchair users, costs go beyond standard treatment models. Donations allow us to:

  • Build fully accessible living spaces that prioritize safety and independence

  • Design bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas that reduce injury risk

  • Purchase specialized equipment and furnishings

  • Support residents who lack financial resources

  • Expand access to care for those who would otherwise be turned away

Every donation directly contributes to dignity, safety, and opportunity for people who have been excluded from recovery systems for far too long.

The Power of Sharing

Sharing this site is one of the simplest and most impactful ways to help.

Many people who need Able Place Recovery do not know it exists—because nothing like it has existed before. By sharing our mission, you help:

  • Reach individuals and families searching for accessible recovery

  • Connect professionals who can make referrals

  • Raise awareness of a population often overlooked in addiction treatment

  • Build community support around a new standard of care

Your voice helps ensure this work reaches those who need it most.

Be Part of the Change

Whether you are referring someone, donating, or simply sharing our mission, you are helping

create access where there was none.  Able Place Recovery is more than a program—it is a commitment to inclusion, dignity, and the belief that recovery should be possible for everyone.  If you would like to refer someone, support our work, or learn more about how to get involved, we welcome you to reach out.
